Kristen Cox, Workforce Services Executive Director
Governor Huntsman appointed Kristen Cox Executive Director of Workforce Services in March 2007. In this capacity, Kristen oversees the operations of twelve divisions encompassing federal and state programs including workforce development, public assistance programs, and unemployment insurance. Prior to this appointment, Kristen held positions in Maryland as Secretary of the Nation's First Cabinet-Level Department of Disabilities and as the Director of the Governor's Office for Individuals with Disabilities. Kristen's experience includes positions as a Presidential Appointee/Special Assistant to the Commissioner of the Rehabilitation Services Administration, Governmental Affairs/National Federation of the Blind, and as President of the National Federation of the Blind of Utah.
Kristen graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Educational Psychology degree and has been awarded numerous honors as well as serving on many Boards and Commissions.
Immediately prior to accepting the position as Executive Director of Workforce Services, Kristen was selected as a Lieutenant Governor candidate during Maryland's 2006 General Election.
Kristen and her husband, Randy, have two sons.
