Flaming Gorge Fishing Report

Fishing is really good right now at the Gorge. If one species isn't biting, move to the next until you find one that is!

The Lehi Round-Up Rodeo (part of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) is held the last full week of June and is just part of the celebration.

More than 29,000 permits to hunt bull elk with a rifle or muzzleloader in Utah will go on sale at 8 a.m. on June 27.

The 2013 Utah Arts Festival will transform Downtown’s Library and Washington Squares into a four-day playground for art lovers June 20-23.

The Utah DWR has teamed up with Anadarko to give pronghorns south of Vernal some new water sources. The partnership has resulted in establishment of 12 new guzzlers, which provide water to animals in these parched lands.

Rattlesnake safety tips

Summer is the time of year when you'll most likely encounter rattlesnakes in Utah. Eight rattlesnake subspecies live in Utah. The most common is the Great Basin rattlesnake, which is found across the state.

This demo will include basic dutch oven cooking, including how to cook a super easy cobbler (with free samples!)

The USFWS announced that a rule to remove gray wolves from the Endangered Species (ES) list will be placed in the Federal Register for comment. Once the rule is posted, comments will be accepted for 90 days.

Palisade State Park is offering ATV rides right out of the park. They will be having one ride each month on a different trail each ride.

Biologists will be available from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to help you locate the animals and to answer your questions. Late afternoon until dusk is usually the best time to see the sheep.

A fun weekend camping with your family and friends can turn tragic if you do things that lure bears into the area where you're camping.

The trail, which opened on May 18th, passes through seven Utah County cities, including American Fork, Cedar Hills, Highland, Lehi, Lindon, Orem and Pleasant Grove.

Even though the number of deer in Utah is going up, on May 2, the Utah Wildlife Board approved a slight decrease in the number of general buck deer permits available for hunts in Utah this fall.

To see waterfowl, Ron Stewart suggests visiting Steinaker Reservoir and Pelican Lake on the east side of the Uinta Basin. During a recent visit to Steinaker, Stewart spotted 12 different types of ducks and geese.
